Reading Reflection No.3

Miracles Happen, Mary Kay Ash

The text revolves around the story of a woman who was determined to live her life to the fullest. She chose not to be defined by her humble background. She believed she could and much more, she believed she could inspire others to believe too. The text highlights the formation of individual dreams and the pursuit of what you believe in. Address int the text are many forms of different things that promote success in the minds of many and help individuals reading the text determine what it means to be focused on what they want. Why stop? Why fall short of your dreams when you can achieve anything. The text truly embraced and help solidify this idea and was quite interesting to read in its entirety.

  1. Hi Arthur,

This book wasn't chosen as one of my three, so I appreciated being able to learn a bit about it through your blog post. It sounds like the author's message was a bit cliche and generic, but I can appreciate the motivation for what it is. What kind of exercise do you think we could use in this course that would be based on the book you read? I think it would be interesting to hear what people's goals were as children, as adulthood inevitably takes some of the hope, creativity, and ambition from us, and we settle for more secure livelihoods. It reminds me of a scene from fight club, in which a protagonist threatens a cashier's life under condition that he return to the veterinary track and education that he had quit for urgent financial reasons.
